Here is a great little recipe which is a great cost saver if you and your family consume a lot of smoothies.

Ingredients:

1 cup dried, shredded coconut, unsweetened (don’t use dessicated coconut as it is too refined)

4 cups water (alkaline is better)

Method:

Blend all ingredients together in a high powered blender for at least 6 minutes (3 minutes in a Vitamix). It does take more time to puree the coconut into the water. If you have a weaker blender this recipe may not work adequately or may have residual coconut in the milk.

Filter your milk through a cheesecloth to remove the left-over sediment and place in a jug and refrigerate.

It can be frozen in ice cube trays for future use, but it will only keep for about 5 days in the refrigerator.

I just cleaned an old almond milk container (1L) and used that.
