Try these alternate whipped creams which are a great tasting non-dairy cream. Experiment with the options until you get the taste you prefer.

#1 – Macadamia Cream:

1 and 1/3 cups macadamia nuts

1 cup oat milk

2/3 cup pitted dates

Blend all ingredients together in a high powered blender. Great on natural fruit or as a topping on a fruit compote or sorbet.

#2 – Coconut cream:

1/2 can coconut milk or cream, chilled

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tsp walnut oil (or try almond or macadamia nut oil)

Open the can and if possible, drain off any clear liquid and transfer the cream into a bowl. If already mixed together, then start the preparation process.

Beat the coconut cream and ingredients in a bowl with a hand mixer (or spoon will do if in a hurry) until thickening. Test for flavor and consistency. For a more chocolate-flavored cream, try adding natural cacao/cocoa powder.  Transfer the finished coconut cream to a covered storage container and chill for 2 hours until the mixture firms. Alternatively you may serve immediately as a creamy dessert sauce. Serve over the dessert of your choice.

#3 – Coconut almond cream:

1/2 can coconut milk or cream, chilled

2-4 Tbsp almond meal to thicken slightly

1 Tbsp vanilla extract (or almond, walnut or macadamia nut oil)

1/2 tsp Cacao, cocoa powder or mix with some maca powder (all optional)

Open the can and if possible, drain off any clear liquid and transfer the cream to a chilled bowl. If already mixed together, then start the preparation process with chilled ingredients and a chilled bowl.

Beat the coconut cream in a bowl with a hand mixer until thickening. Add the vanilla extract, then gradually beat in the almond meal (1 or 2 Tbsp at a time) testing for flavor and consistency. For flavored cream, try adding maca powder and cacao/cocoa powder.  Alternatively you may experiment with replacing the vanilla extract with an almond, walnut or macadamia nut oil or even a liqueur. Transfer the finished coconut cream to a covered storage container and chill for 2 hours until the mixture firms. Alternatively you may serve immediately as a creamy dessert sauce. Serve over the dessert of your choice.
