Serves 4


1/2 cup raisins or sultanas

1/4 cup water

4 apples, peeled, cored and diced

8 pitted dates, quartered

1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

2 Tbsp raw linseed

1/2 Tbsp ground cinnamon

1 Tbsp mixed seeds such as sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds etc (optional)


Place raisins in the bottom of a pan with the water and place the chopped apple on top. Cover and bring to the boil and then simmer on very low heat for 7 minutes.

Transfer the apple and raisin mix to a serving bowl and mix well with all remaining ingredients. Serve warm or cold. This recipe keeps well in the refrigerator for several days.
